i-navi Link/“PlayStation” Connection
Connecting to the Car Navigation System or “PlayStation” (optional)
■
Operations that can be performed during connection
All i-mode operations are performed from the car navigation system.
•
The only i-mode operation that can be performed on the mova is to quit the i-mode. No function can be
opened from the i-mode menu or mail menu. Nor can i-
α
ppli operation be performed. “unable to use
with external device” appears.
•
For information on displays and operations of the i-mode compatible car navigation system, refer to
the instruction manual supplied with the car navigation system or contact the manufacturer.
•
To use the car navigation connection function, you need an i-mode compatible car navigation system
and an i-mode compatible adapter.
Connecting an i-mode compatible car navigation system with your mova allows you to
use the car navigation system as an i-mode device that is capable of performing
various i-mode operations such as browsing i-mode sites and sending/receiving mail
(i-navi Link). A car navigation system can also be used to search and set a destination
from a site (with position information) or send the current position by mail. (Available
functions vary by the type of car navigation system.)
When the mova is connected to a “PlayStation”, you can download or exchange data required for a
game using “PlayStation” software that supports i-mode.
•
i-
α
ppli cannot be run on an i-mode compatible “PlayStation” software (as of April, 2004).
•
Not all i-mode operations on mova may be available depending on the i-mode compatible
“PlayStation” software during connecting with mova.
•
To use i-mode connecting with a “PlayStation”, you need cellular phone cable (sold by Sony Computer
Entertainment Inc.), “PlayStation” main unit (“PlayStation”, “PS one”, or “PlayStation 2”), and i-mode
compatible “PlayStation” software other than mova.
•
On how to use the i-mode compatible “PlayStation” software, refer to the instruction manual supplied
with the software for detailed information.
•
The connecting to an external device icon (
) appears when the car navigation system or “PlayStation”
is connected.
•
Mail and Messages received by the car navigation system or “PlayStation” are saved in the memory card
of the car navigation system or “PlayStation”, not in the mova.
•
The Bookmarks and Screen memos stored in the mova cannot be used in the car navigation system or
“PlayStation”.
•
Neither car navigation system nor “PlayStation” can be connected while Keypad Lock or i-mode Lock is
set.
•
If you connect the car navigation system or “PlayStation” while registering a Phonebook entry or
composing mail, the Standby screen appears. The Phonebook entry being registered or the mail being
composed will not be saved.
•
When the car navigation system or “PlayStation” is connected while displaying an i-mode site or executing
an i-
α
ppli application, any sites that are displayed or i-
α
ppli applications that are running quit. And, when it
is connected during i-mode communication, the communication is canceled.
