In standby, select “compose message” from the mail menu.
The compose mail screen appears.
•
Alternatively, you can display the screen in the following way:
•
In standby, press and hold down

In standby, select “mail” from the menu and press and hold down
(select).

Enter the recipient’s mail address.
•
Enter only the portion before the @ sign when sending i-mode mail to another i-mode compatible
mobile phone.
Example: When the address is “docomo.taro.
ΔΔ
@docomo.ne.jp”, just enter “docomo.taro.

•
When sending mail to other than i-mode compatible mobile phones, you must enter the
receiver’s complete address, including the portion after the @ sign.
•
If the receiver has added a Secret code, you need to enter that 4-digit Secret code immediately
after the phone number.

To directly enter the mail address

Select the “to” field and press
(select), and select “5. direct input” and press
(select).

Enter the mail address.
•
Up to 50 single-byte alphanumerics and symbols (such as “@” and “.”) can be entered.
•
You can easily enter “@” or “.” by repeatedly pressing
in alphabetic mode.
•
You can easily enter “.ne.jp” or “.co.jp” by repeatedly pressing
in alphabetic mode.

To search for a recipient in the Phonebook (see p.324)

To add the “receiver” field (see p.325)

To use a mail group to add recipients (see p.326)
You can send mail to other i-mode compatible mobile phones. You can also email
users via the Internet.
•
If there is no open space in the Outmail box (when there are a total of 200 unsent and protected
mail items including i-mode mail, Short Mail and i-shot mail), you cannot compose new i-mode mail.
•
When you send mail to other than i-mode compatible mobile phones, single-byte katakana
characters, pictographs or some double-byte symbols such as “
” and “
” should not be
used for the subject or mail body, as such characters may not be correctly displayed at the
receiving side.
•
You cannot set CC or BCC (to send a copy of the mail item to another recipient).
•
You can answer an incoming call while composing mail. When you end the call, the compose
mail screen reappears.
Enter the recipient’s mail address.
Enter the subject (can be omitted).
Enter the text body (can be omitted).
Set this when you want to attach a melody to mail or send an image using i-shot
(see p.328, 404).

To change the character size in the compose mail screen (Default: normal)

Select “CHAR size” from the submenu.

Select a character size and press
(select).
•
When the size is changed, characters appear in the new character size.
•
When the size is changed, the character size in the compose Short Mail screen also
changes.
