Even if the vibrator is turned on, the phone does not vibrate in the following cases. (The mova does not
vibrate even when
is shown.)

When the Vibrator pattern is set to “off”
•
When Manner Mode is set and “off” is set for “vibrator” in Manner Mode Selection
•
When Drive Mode is set
•
In case the Vibrator setting specified for each Phonebook entry, the group settings of call reception or
mail reception or Alarm Time function is “OFF”.
•
The following settings allow the phone to turn off the sound:
•
Set the Manner mode (see p.112)
•
Set “silent” in the sound setting (see p.118)
•
Set the ringtone volume or mail ringtone volume to “level 0” (see p.121).
•
Set the sound/vibrator setting of Easy Timer, Alarm Time or Schedule to “silent” (see p.240, 242, 252).
When the Vibrator is turned on
Keypad sound makes it possible to confirm that a key has been pressed. If you want to
turn the keypad sound off, select “off”.

The keypad sound is turned off.

To turn the keypad sound on, select “1. on”.
•
The vibration might not be felt when the phone is in the pocket of a heavy coat, etc.
•
Turn off the vibrator when you recharge the mova using the desktop holder with the power turned on.
Failure to do so could cause the mova to vibrate out of the holder when a call is received.
•
Note that when your mova is placed on a table or other hard surface and the vibrator setting is on, the
vibrations generated by an incoming call could cause it to fall on the floor.
•
Ragardless of setting to “on” or “off”, the mova vibrates according to the individual Vibrator setting specified
for each Phonebook entry or Alarm Time function (see p.92, 241, 243, 253).

When the vibrator is activated by an i-
α
ppli, the mova vibrates even when the vibrator setting is “off”.
•
When sound effect for the Flash movie rings, the phone does not vibrate even when the vibrator setting is
“on” (see p.276).

When setting to “off”, the sounds given below are also turned off:
•
Beeps that indicate the remaining battery level
•
Alarm sound that indicates Auto Power Off
•
Warning sounds that indicate operation error
•
Signals that inform you that messages are waiting at the Voice Mail Service Center.
•
Even when setting to “off”, the following sounds are emitted:
•
Shatter sound, continuous shooting sound and Auto timer sound emitted when shooting still images
•
Recording start sound and recording end sound emitted when shooting video clips
