Updating the mova’s Software
Software Update
This function is used for checking whether mova software needs to be updated, for
downloading a part of software by packet communication* if necessary, and for
updating software.
* Packet communication fees for Software Update is free of charge.
If software needs to, be updated, it is informed at NTT DoCoMo web site and “

on the iMenu.
There are 2 ways to update software of updating immediately or updating
automatically at the reserved date and time.
•
To update software, you need to subscribe to i-mode or packet communication service.
•
You can update software even when i-mode Host is set as the user defined host.
•
Before updating software, fully charge the battery.
•
In the following cases, software cannot be updated:
•
When the Clock setting are not set
•
During a call
•
When outside the i-mode service area
•
When i-mode Lock is set
•
While Self Mode is set
•
Connecting to an external device
•
There may be a delay in (downloading or rewriting) Software Update.
•
During Software Update, you cannot use other functions (excluding incoming calls).
•
When software is updated, SSL communications are performed to the server (NTT DoCoMo
web site). You need to confirm Set CA Certificate is “valid” (“valid” is set by default). Setting
procedure (see p.304).
•
It is recommended that you update software at a location with good signal condition, the signal
strength indicator is
, and you are not moving.

In standby, select “setting”

Enter your 4-digit terminal ID number.

Select “1.continue” and press

A prompt appears.

To cancel the operation, select “2. cancel”.
•
If the battery level icon is other than
, select
“2. cancel” and fully charge the battery before
retrying the operation.

Select “YES” and press
(select).
A prompt appears.
•
To cancel the operation, select “NO”.
