Error Messages
Messages displayed when operation is not correctly executed, their meanings and
handling methods are explained.
•
Messages that are easy to understand and to deal with are omitted.
•
Error messages displayed using i-
α
ppli software and connecting to i-mode sites are not
included.
•
A 3-digit number may be displayed along with message. A part of the number which appears
on terminals is a specific code of DoCoMo.
Message
Meaning Handling method
memory is full When “ ” is used to specify the
Memory number, there is no free
Memory number corresponding.
Save using a different Memory
number.
error An error occurred during execution of
an application. There may be a problem
with the application.
−
too many receivers The total of the entered recipients and
that in the mail group exceeds 10. Delete the entered recipients.
transmission to some
addresses failed Could not transmit Chat mail to some
Chat members. Send the mail again (see p.327, 387).
unable to play voice
memo Right after the end of a call (for approx.
5 seconds) or when an additional
number in the Number Plus Service is
receiving an incoming call during Drive
Mode, Voice Memo cannot be recorded
or played back. Wait for a while and try again.
folder using same
software exists, unable
to download Mail interlocked type i- α ppli that uses
the same folder in Outmail or Inmail
box has already been saved.
To download the application, delete
the application that uses the
corresponding folder (see p.443).
data is not found Phonebook entries are not registered
or there is no entry that matches the
search condition. If the Phonebook entries are
registered, search again with changing
the search condition or search method
(ordinary search or Secret search).
Mail cannot be composed because the
phone number or mail address is not
registered in the Phonebook.

A call cannot be made using the switch
on the switch-equipped
earphone/microphone because the
other party is not registered in the
Phonebook.
Register the other party you want to
make a call in the Memory number
that was set in the Auto Dial setting.
unable to overwrite Memory numbers stored in Secret
memory cannot be overwritten. Save data using another Memory
number.
rewriting is complete,
retry software update
later Software Update is completed.
However, a notification of update
completion failed. Wait for a while, and retry Software
Update (see p.616).
rewrite failed XX Rewriting software failed.
(XX indicates numbers.)
Take your mova to an authorized NTT
DoCoMo service center.
rewrite failed 60
battery is too low. Rewriting software failed. The battery is
almost discharged.
