Switching Entry modes
Each time
(letter) is pressed, the Entry mode changes as follows:
In kanji mode, double-byte kanji, hiragana, katakana, alphanumeric characters can be entered.
In kana mode, single-byte katakana, alphanumeric characters can be entered. The relationship between
numeric keys and assigned characters is the same as in kanji mode except that characters are entered
in single-byte katakana.

To switch to the special mode, press
(special).
•
The Entry modes that are available vary depending on the function being used or the item being
entered.

Entering characters
The description below shows how to enter katakana characters in kana mode.

Conversion procedure for kanji mode and functions used in special mode are the same as those
for mode 1 (5-touch).

To switch between uppercase and lowercase, press
