The approximate maximum number of saved items
Still images are saved, in the JPEG format, in the built-in memory or
Memory Stick Duo.
The number of images you can save depends on the size and the compression mode.
•
The figure shows the aspect ratios of the image sizes. The image sizes shown are not actual ones.
•
The image size (W x H) is represented in pixels. The number of pixels will not be mentioned in the
following pages.
•
With D506i, in addition to the image sizes mentioned above, you can display and edit the still
images of the “QQVGA 120 x 160 (wallpaper)” size which is available with D251i or D251iS.
•
If the photographed image should be used for printing, it is recommended that you use the image
size of “VGA” or larger.
•
For details about setting the image size, see p.154.

•
In the table above, the number indicates an approximate number of still images that can be saved,
with the same image size and compression mode, without editing, in the built-in memory or
Memory
Stick Duo until it becomes full (default i-
α
ppli programs are deleted). The number of images that
can be saved depends on the subject of photos or the amount of data.
•
The number of images that can be saved in the
Memory Stick Duo assumes that you are using the
16MB
Memory Stick Duo provided with your mova. If you use an off-the-shelf Memory Stick Duo,
the capacity and number of images that can be saved may not be proportional.
