1 The message reception screen appears.

Receiving Chat mail
When Chat mail is received, you are notified with the Chat mail ringtone and the
message reception screen. You can check the received mail in the Chat mail screen.
•
Chat mail is saved in the Inmail box as i-mode mail. For the maximum number of received mail
that can be saved, see p.347.
•
Maximum number of chat mail items that can be displayed: 100
The latest 100 sent and received mail items in total appear.
•
Chat mail is i-mode mail whose subject contains “ ﾁｬｯﾄﾒｰﾙ ” (single-byte) or “ チャットメール ”
(double-byte) and whose sender is set as a Chat member. When other mail is received, the
normal mail ringtone sounds and the mail does not appear in the Chat mail screen.
•
If you receive Chat mail while not in Chat mail, the Chat mail screen does not appear. You can
start Chat mail from the received mail (see p.390).
•
When the mail including “ ﾁｬｯﾄﾒｰﾙ ” (single-byte) or “ チャットメール ” (double-byte) as a title is
received from the sender who is not set to a Chat member, you can start Chat mail from the
received mail and set the sender to a Chat member (see p.391).
•
Press (cancel) to stop reception.
•
The Chat mail ringtone plays when mail reception is completed.

Press a numeric key to stop the ringtone. (Alternatively, you can press ,
, , or one of the Side keys.) The message reception screen
remains displayed.
・ No sound is heard when you set the phone to mute ringtones.
・
If Chat mail and Message are received simultaneously, the Chat ringtone
sounds.
・
If Chat mail and mail are received simultaneously, the ringtone of the last
mail item sounds.

When mail is received during Chat mail

Cannot be selected if received during Chat mail.
The Chat mail screen appears and the received Chat mail message appears
on that screen.
•
Received Chat mail message appears in the first line of the Chat mail screen.
•
A linefeed is replaced by a single-byte space.
•
When Chat mail items are sent or received subsequently, they are added at
the beginning of the Chat mail screen sequentially.
