Phonebook
Making a Call from the Phonebook (continued)
Reading search
Lists the Phonebook entries in the reading order. You can search for a party by
entering the first reading character in the name.
1 On the Phonebook search screen, select “search type” “1.reading” from the
submenu.
The column tab appears at the top of the screen, and the Phonebook entry
beginning with the column of the selected tab appears.

Press to display Phonebook entries with readings that begin with the
next column. Press to display entries in the reverse order.

Enter the reading.
Phonebook entries whose reading matches the entered characters are
selected. If there are no entries with a reading that matches the
characters you entered, entries beginning with the next character appear
in the search results. If the next entry does not exist, the previous entry is
displayed.
•
Single-byte katakana and alphanumeric characters can be entered. You
can use
to switch Entry mode (in the 5-press Method).

To move the cursor, use .
•
If you make a mistake, use to delete the character and reenter
the correct character.
•
Even when press , the characters are not displayed in the reverse
order. Note that a call is made.
■ To search by entering readings
•
If more than 1 Phonebook entries matches the search criteria or if you search without entering a reading,
the search results are displayed in the following order:
1. Single-byte spaces (blank spaces at the beginning of a reading)
2. Kana (in kana syllabary order)
6. Single-byte symbols excluding those listed in above 3 (@ / ~ _etc.)
3. “-”, “,”, “.”, “?”, “!”, “ ゛ ”, or “ ゜ ” 7. Reading is not input (all blank)
4. Alphabetic characters (in alphabetic and lowercase, uppercase order)
5. Numerics (0 to 9)

To switch the screen from the normal phonebook to the picture phonebook, select “picture PHBK” from
the submenu. To return to the normal phonebook, select “normal PHBK” from the submenu.
