ASSEMBLY
Assemble parts in reverse order of disassembly, noting following
points.
Replace O-ring and oil seal with new parts.
Apply A/T fluid to them before installing them to piston.
When inserting piston into clutch drum, use care so that O-ring
and oil seal do not come off or get distorted.
Check to make sure that O-ring fits securely to 4 lugs of spring
seat.
Install separator plates and friction plates in correct order and
cushion plate in proper direction.
Measure clearance between retaining plate (1) and snap ring (2).
Clearance between snap ring and retaining plate: “b”
Standard: 0.8 – 1.0 mm (0.032 – 0.039 in)
Limit
: 1.2 mm (0.055 in)
If measured value is out of specification range, replace cushion
plate.
If measured value is beyond service limit value, replace cushion
plate, friction plates and separator plates.
When replacing friction plate with a new one, immerse it in A/T
fluid for longer than 2 hours.
Blow air (1) into oil hole (2) in drum to check piston for movement.
