18) Install side cover.
Remove sealant attached to mating surface of case com-
pletely.
Apply even amount of sealant along rim of transmission case
(1) continuously as shown in left figure.
When applying sealant, use a nozzle so that section of seal-
ant as applied on rim is about 1.5 mm in diameter.
“A”: SUZUKI BOND 1216 (99000-31160)
Apply grease to shim, set it in case and tighten side cover (1)
bolts to specified torque.
Tightening torque for side cover bolt:
19 N
.
m (1.9 kg-m, 13.5 lb-ft)
19) Set differential assembly in case and apply even amount of
sealant (about 1.5 mm in section diameter) along rim of case
continuously as shown in left figure.
“B”: SUZUKI BOND 1216 (99000-31160)
20) Attach differential lower cover (1) and tighten its bolts to speci-
fied torque.
Tightening torque for lower cover bolt:
19 N
.
m (1.9 kg-m, 13.5 lb-ft)
21) Tap center position of differential gear (1) lightly with plastic
hammer to align its center.
