REMOVAL
1) Remove engine assembly from body as previously outlined.
2) Remove clutch cover, clutch disc and flywheel (drive plate for
A / T).

(A): 09924-17810
3) Remove oil pan, oil pump strainer and oil filter.
4) Remove cylinder head cover as previously outlined.
5) Remove timing chain cover.
6) Remove timing chain guide, chain tensioner, tensioner link
timing chain and crank timing sprocket.
7) Remove cylinder head assembly with intake manifold and ex-
haust manifold.
8) Remove pistons and connecting rods.
9) Loosen lower crankcase bolts in such order as indicated in fig-
ure a little at a time and remove lower crankcase.
10) Remove crankshaft from cylinder block.
INSPECTION

Crankshaft runout
Using a dial gauge, measure runout at center journal. Rotate
crankshaft slowly. If runout exceeds its limit, replace crankshaft.
Limit on runout: 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.)
