2 Test switch terminal circuit check:
1) Check for continuity from “B1” terminal of ECM/
PCM connector to ground.
Is there continuity?
“V/W” wire shorted to
ground circuit.
Go to Step 3.
3 MIL bulb and circuit check:
1) Turn ignition switch to ON position, leaving en-
gine OFF.
2) Measure voltage from “C7” terminal of ECM/
PCM connector to ground.
Is voltage within 10 – 14V?
Go to TABLE A-4 ECM/
PCM POWER AND
GROUND CIRCUIT
CHECK in this section.
MIL bulb burned out.
“V/Y” or “B/W” wire open
or short.

“P/B” wire short. Substitute a known-good
ECM/PCM and recheck.

1) Connect jumper wire from monitor connector “c”
terminal to monitor connector “e” terminal.
2) Check for continuity from “B9” terminal of ECM/
PCM connector to ground.
Is there continuity?
Go to Step 3. “P/B” or “B” wire open.
3 Test switch terminal circuit check:
1) Check for continuity from “B1” terminal of ECM/
PCM connector to ground.
Is there continuity?
“V/W” wire short. Poor connection of
ECM/PCM connector.
If OK, substitute a
known-good ECM/PCM
and recheck.
