Transmission range switch signal check:
(1) Remove PCM cover.
(2) With ignition switch ON, check voltage under the fol-
lowing conditions.
“P” and ground”
P-range 10 – 14 V
other than P-range 0 – 1 V
“R” and ground” R-range 10 – 14 V
other than R-range 0 – 1 V
“N” and ground” N-range 10 – 14 V
other than N-range 0 – 1 V
“D” and ground” D-range 10 – 14 V
other than D-range 0 – 1 V
“2” and ground” 2-range 10 – 14 V
other than 2-range 0 – 1 V
“L” and ground” L-range 10 – 14 V
other than L-range 0 – 1 V
Are they in good condition?
Check PCM to cou-
pler connection for
poor connection.
If OK, substitute a
known-good PCM
and recheck Go to Step 2.

Check transmission range switch installation.
Is it in good condition?
Faulty transmission
range switch or its
circuit.
If OK, substitute a
known-good PCM
and recheck. Adjust and recheck.
