ASSEMBLY
Assemble parts in reverse order of disassembly, noting following
points.
Replace inner seal ring and seal ring with new parts. Apply A/T
fluid to them before installation.
When inserting forward clutch piston into input shaft drum, use
care so that seal ring does not come off or get distorted.
Install cushion plates in proper direction.
Install friction plates and separator plates in correct order.
Check to make sure that C-ring fits securely to 4 lugs of spring
seat.
Measure clearance between snap ring (1) and retaining plate (2)
with thickness gauge (3).
Clearance between snap ring and retaining plate: “c”
Standard: 0.8 – 1.0 mm (0.032 – 0.039 in)
Limit
: 1.2 mm (0.062 in)
If measured value is out of specification range, replace retaining
plate and if it is beyond service limit value, replace cushion plate,
separator plates and friction plates.
Blow air (1) into oil hole (2) in input shaft to check piston for move-
ment.
