INSPECTION
Immerse temperature sensing part of IAT sensor in water and mea-
sure resistance between sensor terminals while heating water
gradually.
If measured resistance doesn’t show such characteristic as shown
in the figure, replace IAT sensor.
INSTALLATION
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
Clean mating surface of sensor and intake manifold.
Install IAT sensor to intake manifold case securely.
Tightening Torque for IAT sensor
15 N·m (1.5 kg-m, 11.0 lb-ft)
Connect connector to sensor securely.

OXYGEN SENSOR INSPECTION
Inspect oxygen sensor and its circuit, referring to flow table of diag-
nostic trouble code No. 14.
OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER INSPECTION
1) Disconnect sensor connector.
2) Using tester, measure resistance between terminals “C” and
“D” of sensor connector.
NOTE:
Temperature of sensor affects resistance value largely.
Make sure that sensor heater is at correct temperature.
Resistance: 4.0 – 5.0
