1. Snap ring plier

37) Remove E-ring (1) and then remove parking lever (2) and park-
ing rod (3) as an assembly.
38) Using special tools, remove band servo piston and snap ring.

(I) : 09916-48210
39) By blowing air into oil hole, remove band servo piston (1).
CAUTION:
As hard air blow will cause servo piston (1) to jump out,
blow air gradually while trying to receive it with paper.
CLUTCH AND BRAKE PARTS DIAGNOSIS
SYMPTOMS
Clutch Discs and Brake Band
Dry and inspect them for pitting, flaking, wear, glazing, cracking,
charring and chips or metal particles imbedded in lining.
If discs or brake band show any of the above conditions, replace-
ment is required.
Clutch Steel Plates
Dry plates and check for discoloration. If plate surface is smooth
and even color smear is indicated, the plate should be reused. If se-
vere heat spot discoloration or surface scuffing is indicated, the
plate must be replaced.
