1. Press the [FREQ/DIST] key.
2. Select the "Start Dist" or "Stop Dist" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH opens an input field to specify the start distance or stop
distance.
3. Enter the distance you want the display to start from and to end at.
In auto span mode, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH adjusts the frequency settings in
order to get the best display resolution.
If you have set the span manually, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH zooms in to the sec-
tion of the cable you have defined. The results maintain their accuracy in that case.
7.2.2.3
Setting the Frequency Range for CAT Measurements (except DTF)
If you measure the reflection, transmission or cable loss, the displayed frequency
range is defined by the span, the center frequency or start and stop frequencies.
Defining the span
The span you should select depends on the frequency band you are analyzing and the
frequency range you need information about.
The minimum span for both measurements is 10 Hz, the maximum span depends on
the R&S Cable Rider ZPH and is either 2.998 GHz or 3.998 GHz (R&S ZPH-B4
option).
1. Press the [FREQ/DIST] key.
2. Select the "Span" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH opens an input field to specify the frequency span.
3. Enter the span you require.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH sets the span you have entered.
Setting the displayed frequency range
In the default configuration, the R&S Cable Rider ZPH adjusts the start and stop fre-
quency according to the span and the center frequency, with the center frequency
being in the middle of the horizontal axis. Alternatively, you can directly set the start
and stop frequency.
1. Press the [FREQ/DIST] key.
2. Select the "Center" softkey.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH opens an input field to specify the center frequency.
3. Enter the center frequency you require.
Alternatively, set the frequency range independent of span and center frequency.
4. Select the "Start" softkey and enter a start frequency
5. Select the "Stop" softkey and enter a stop frequency.
