Hword
Expanded cell size/unassigned cell data. Specifies the size of the expanded
cells. ECSIZE is valid only if S
xSTATE[EC] is set. Bits 0-10 are reserved and must
be cleared. ECSIZE must not be modified after ATM has been activated. The
expanded header can be from 0 to 12 octets and can optionally include the HEC
as shown in the following table:

During transfers, the CP uses SRCHNUM, STCHNUM, OLDLEN, RTEMP, TTEMP, RSTUFF, RHECTEMP, THECTEMP,
RSCRAM, RSCRAM1, TSCRAM, TSCRAM1, RCHAN, TCHAN, RCRC and TCRC to store temporary data for internal
use.
