lamp .......................................... A deuterium discharge lamp. This lamp emits an intense
UV beam.
e-Line............................................. A digital network cable exclusive for analysis, which is
used for connecting the Chromaster series units.
GLP ............................................... A function for checking the conditions of instrument.
Hg lamp ......................................... A mercury lamp. Used for measurement of wavelength
accuracy.
LOG amplifier ................................ An electronic circuit which logarithmically converts input
signal for its amplification. Used for determining
absorbance.
W ................................................... A tungsten lamp. Emits an intense beam in the visible
region.
Initial display .................................. A display presented at first upon starting the instrument.
Auto zero ....................................... Adjusts signal level of the detector to zero, thereby
canceling a rise of the baseline. Generally activated just
before or after start.
AUTO ZERO IN ............................. A function for activating auto zero according to external
contact signals.
Key lock ......................................... A protective function for rejecting a key input made in
error during instrument run.
Grating........................................... An optical device for dispersing incident beam according
to differences in wavelength.
Sample-side energy....................... Refers to the intensity of beam that passes through a
sample in a flow cell.
Output range.................................. Determines the amplitude of a signal to be output to an
external system such as data processor.
Spectrum memory ......................... A function for determining the absorption spectrum of a
sample.
