4.5 General Cautions for Handling
(1) Replacement of Solvent, Cleaning Of Flow Path System
When replace the solvent for the inside of the flow path
system, use solvents that can be mixed with each other.
(Also substitute the solvent for the inside of the detector cell
and the flow path of the sample injector.)
Perform cleaning similarly.
Fig. 4-5 Replacement of Solvent and Cleaning of Flow Path System
The above figure shows an example of replacement/
cleaning that is performed when switching analysis from
amino acid analysis to oil-soluble vitamine analysis.
(2) Column
Storage
If the column is not used for a long time, fill the column with
a solvent, seal the inlet/outlet of the column, and store it.
(a) Continue to make the solvent flow. (Flow rate:
0.2 ml/min., 0.02 ml/min. with a semi-micro column.)
(b) Remove the piping from the outlet. Connect a
stopcock manually.
(c) Stop the Pump.
(d) Remove the piping from the inlet. Connect a
stopcock manually.
(e) Tighten both cocks with a wrench.
* Make a solvent with high elution flow, replace the
solvent with a specified solvent, and then remove the
column.
