(2) Notes on Handling Samples that Contain a High
Concentration of the Compound of Interest
When the concentration of the compound of interest is
relatively high, various error factors will arise.
The greatest factor is that the excitation beam is
substantially absorbed near the entrance slit of a cell and it
cannot reach the cell center adequately.
An extreme situation is shown in Fig. 3-8. Fluorescence is
emitted near the entrance slit of a cell, but it will not be
taken into the emission monochromator.
