Check each fitting. Retighten the offending
fitting.
An impurity is eluting

Wait until elution is
completed, or replace the
column with a new one.
Excessive drift
There is a significant
change in the ambient
temperature. Or low
purity solvent is used.
Check solvent. Control the temperature
variation.
Purify the solvent or
replace it with one of a
higher quality.
