Blower Motor Controller Inspection

Check blower motor controller voltage as follows:
1) Turn ignition switch to ON position.
2) With blower motor controller connector connected,
turn blower speed selector from OFF to MAX
position while measuring voltage between “b”
terminal of blower motor controller connector and
body ground.
Blower motor controller voltage specification
Check blower motor controller resistance as follows:
1) Disconnect blower motor controller connector.
2) Measure resistance between “c” and “d” terminals of
blower motor controller.
If measured resistance is incorrect, replace blower
motor controller.

“c” – “d”: approximately 1.5 k
Ω
Blower Motor Relay Inspection

1) Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2) Remove glove box.
3) Remove blower motor relay (1).
4) Check if there is no continuity between terminal “c”
and “d”. If there is continuity, replace relay.
5) Check if there is continuity between terminals “c” and
“d” when a 12 V battery is connected to terminals “a”
and “b”.
If malfunction is found, replace it with a new one.
