Rear Stabilizer Bar and/or Bushings Removal
and Installation

Removal
CAUTION
!
To avoid the risk of being burned, start your
work after the exhaust system has cooled
down.
1) Hoist vehicle.
2) Remove stabilizer joint nuts. When loosening joint
nut, hold stud with wrench.
3) Disconnect stabilizer joints from stabilizer bar.
4) Remove stabilizer bar mount brackets.
5) Remove stabilizer bar.
Installation
1) Loosely assemble all components in reverse order of
removal.
2) With painted marks (2) on stabilizer bar and end face
of mount bushings (1) aligned, tighten stabilizer bar
bracket bolts temporarily by hand at this step.
NOTE
If painted mark has faded out, align the
vehicle center and the center of stabilizer bar.
3) Lower hoist.
4) Tighten each bolt and nut to specified torque. When
tightening, hold stud with wrench.
Tightening torque
Stabilizer bar bracket bolt (a): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-
m, 17.0 lb-ft)
Stabilizer joint nut (b): 50 N·m (5.0 kgf-m, 36.5
lb-ft)
Rear Stabilizer Bar, Bushing and/or Joint Check

Stabilizer Bar
Inspect for damage or deformation. If defective, replace.
Stabilizer Bushing / Bracket
Inspect for damage, wear deformation or deterioration. If
defective, replace.
