Node Defaults Parameters
The following table lists all possible parameters on the first two screens.
depending on the values configured for some parameters, other parameters
might not be displayed.
1
If this value is changed, you must also change the LP type in all Line Processor records
for this node, as well as any Logical Trunk port records. (See
explanation
.)
2
If you try to change the
Connection Lim it
, you will be asked to enter a serial number and
activation key. (See
explanation
.)
3
Must be a value other than
000
if LLC2 will run in the node.
Description
is text that will follow the node number in various configuration record displays (as
shown after the node numbers at items B and E–M
in
Figure 5-2
).
Alternate NMP Node
identifies an ICP, INM, or N7000 NMP (via its attached node) that will act as follows:
●
If the local node is an FRX8000 Switch or N74/7500 without a locally attached
NMP, the alternate NMP Node will provide the local node with network
defaults and other network data.
●
If the local (FRX8000 or N74/7500) node has a locally attached NMP, or is an
ICP or INM, the alternate NMP Node will take over the local node’s man-
agement functions (receiving alarms, updating parameters, etc.) if the local node
loses contact with the network.
