Configuring X.25 Closed User Groups
Closed User Group (CUG) is a privacy feature that allows creation of up to 100 groups
of users per port. Members of a CUG can communicate with other members, but
access to and from network users outside that CUG may be denied (determined by the
Port record parameters
Outgoing Access Allowed
and
Incoming Access Allowed
). The
CUG index number is included in call packets, and is cross-referenced with the CUG
Index in the FRX8000 software.
To configure a CUG, press
[A]
, then
[C]
from the CUG Management Menu. When
prompted, enter:
●
Node ID

0
to configure a dialup DTE CUG, or
1–250
to configure a non-dialup CUG. (Default is the “local” node.)

(Non-dialup CUG only)
LP ID
: (of the LP containing the port)
0–7
. (Default is
0
.)
●
(Non-dialup CUG only)

:
0–7
for a physical port on an RLP,
0–3
for
a port on an AST LP (N7400/7500 only),
8–63
for a logical port on an RLP. (If
you specify a logical port, enter the number of the associated physical frame
relay port when asked.)
●
(Dialup DTE CUG only)
Telephone number

(on page
