Configuring Inter-Nodal Trunks
7-17
Logical Port Parameters
Underlying Physical Port
is the physical PDN port (whose record must be configured first) on which this logical
port is being configured.
Blocked Flag
causes the logical port to be enabled (
N
) or disabled (
Y
) at node IPL. The port will
remain in that state until this parameter is changed (and sent to the node) or an on-line
enable/disable is performed. (See "
Disabling and Enabling Ports"
on page 18-1.)
Calling Address
identifies the local end of the logical trunk. This address does not need to be con-
figured in the Subscriber file, but it must be unique among addresses configured in the
database.
Called Address
identifies the remote end of the logical trunk. This address does not need to be con-
figured in the Subscriber file, but it must be unique among addresses configured in the
database.
Configuring Subscriber IDs
This operation creates records for the called and calling addresses that will be used in
call setup on logical trunks. To complete the connection, the software must recognize
where the call is coming from (calling address) and where it is going (called address).
To configure an SVC Subscriber record, press
[A]
, then
[C]
at the Subscriber Config-
uration Menu (or
[A], [F], [A], [C]
from the Main Menu). When prompted, enter a
Subscriber ID
of up to 15 digits. (The default is an asterisk, which is a universal
wildcard.)
Subscriber addressing
is described on page 9-15.
If this is an existing record, a screen similar to
Figure 7-7
will be displayed. If this is
a new record, enter the remaining requested information, noting the values in
Table 7-4
.
