If a line monitor password creation or change is sent to the nodes while line
monitor operations are being performed at a node, the utility will automat-
ically be exited at the node.
You must have database master status to perform this operation.
Then follow this procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, press
[A]
, then
[H]
.
2. Enter your high-level password to display a menu of choices.
3. Press the letter corresponding to the password you want to change. If you select
the Remote Control Password, enter the desired node number when prompted.
4. If you are creating a line monitor or remote control password where one did not
exist, go to step 5. Otherwise, when prompted, type the old password (it will not
be displayed) and press
[Enter]
.
5. When prompted, type the new password, 5-6 characters (it will not be displayed),
and press
[Enter]
. If you are removing an existing line monitor or remote control
password (so a password will no longer be required), press
[Enter]
.
Although more than six characters can be entered, only the first
six are recognized by the software.
6. Confirm the new password by entering it again. (If removing a line monitor or
remote control password, press
[Enter]
again.)
7. The password is now changed (or created or removed). Press
[F3] ([PF3]
on an
async terminal) to return to the Password Change Menu.
8. For any password except a remote control password, the operation is complete.
If you created/changed/deleted a remote control password, you must send the
change to the node. Perform a
Configuration Update
(
[B], [B], [D], [A]
from the
Main Menu; described under “
Boot Disk Download Operations”
on page 18-6.
