Configuring Async Pads
13-17
Configuring Subscriber IDs
This operation creates records for the called and calling addresses that will be used in
X.25 call setup if async traffic will be transported over X.25 or (via an X.25 logical
port) frame relay. To complete the connection, the software must recognize where the
call is coming from (calling address) and where it is going (called address).
To configure an SVC Subscriber record, press
[A]
, then
[C]
at the Subscriber Config-
uration Menu (or
[A], [F], [A], [C]
from the Main Menu). When prompted, enter a
Subscriber ID
, up to 15 digits (as described on
page 9-15
). (The default is an asterisk,
a universal wildcard.) If this is an existing record, a screen similar to Figure 13-4 will
be displayed. If this is a new record, enter the remaining requested information, noting
the values in
Table 13-4
.

The parameters displayed by pressing
[1]
or
[2]
are listed in
Table 13-4
.
When Changes Take Effect
When you add a new Subscriber record, the change will be written to the database as
soon as you enter the final parameter value. When you modify a parameter in an
existing record, the change will be written to the database immediately.
The change will become effective as soon as the next call is placed. (The change will
not affect a call in progress.)
