E Configure LAN Interfaces
A
Configure IP Interfaces – Chapter 14. Identification of any IP interfaces
in FRX8000s on the network. Identifies type (X.25, Ethernet, etc.) and
operating parameters. Required for every IP interface.
B Configure IPX Management – Chapter 15.
A Configure IPX Interface – identification of any Novell
®
IPX
interfaces in FRX8000s on the network. Identifies type (X.25,
Ethernet, etc.) and operating parameters. Required for every IPX
interface.
B Configure IPX Applications – applies IPX filters to interfaces,
filter types, and/or directions.
C SNA LLC2 Management – Chapter 11.
A Configure SNA LLC2 Hosts – defines LLC2 hosts; includes session
type (originated or terminated), necessary addresses, timers.
B Configure SNA LLC2 Interface – specifies location, type, and format
of any LLC2 interfaces.
F Configure Connections and Routing Paths

Configure Subscriber – Chapter 9 and misc. other chapters. Specification
of subscriber IDs, used as called and calling addresses in X.25 call setup;
algorithms for call routing; bandwidth allocation, redirection addresses.
Required for all traffic being transported over a logical X.25 port.
B Configure Abbreviated Address – Chapter 13. Creates a short name or
mnemonic that can be substituted for an async PAD subscriber address.
C Configure PVC Connection – Chapter 7 ( trunk ), Chapter 8 ( frame relay ),
Chapter 9 ( X.25 ), Chapter 13 ( async ), Chapter 14 ( IP ). Creation of
“permanent” connections between FRX8000 ports. Identifies location,
protocols at each end, operating parameters.
D Configure IP Route – Chapter 14. Creation of fixed routes for IP traffic.
E Configure IPX Route – Chapter 15. Creation of fixed routes for IPX
traffic.
F Configure Group Name – Chapter 9. Specifies a name to be used for
Group Send messages.
G Configure Group Send – Chapter 9. Allows an X.25 subscriber to
broadcast a message to a group of subscribers by sending a single Call
Request.
H Configure Telephone Number – Chapter 7 ( trunk ), Chapter 9 ( X.25 ).
Numbers used by all V.25bis modems on the network.
I Configure T1/E1 Channel Map – Chapter 6 . DS0 channel assignments for
T1/E1 lines. Required for all T1/E1 cards.
G Configuration Report – page 3-12. Produces a summary of database records
for one or all FRX8000s on the network, listing database parameters and
values.
H Change Passwords – Appendix C. Allows changing several of the passwords
used to access FRX8000 operations.
