Configuring SNA
11-5
Pressing
[1]
at the screen in Figure 11-3 will display more parameters, listed in
Table 11-1
. The parameters will depend on the PAD type:
●
If you are configuring an FRX8000 SNA port, the second screen will identify
the PAD type and some of its operating parameters. (The physical devices con-
nected to the PAD will be defined in the FRX8000 SDLC-PU file, described on
page 11-12
.)
●
If you are configuring an N7000 HPAD, the second screen defines the first
TPAD. (The remaining TPADs are defined in the 7000 HPAD-PU record,
described on
page 11-12
.)
●
If you are configuring a multi-drop TPAD, the second screen identifies the first
PU. (The remaining PUs are defined in the 7000 TPAD-PU record, described
on
page 11-12
.)
When Changes Take Effect at the Port
When you add a new Port record, it will be written to the database as soon as you enter
the final parameter value. When you modify a parameter in an existing record, the
change will be written to the database immediately.
The change will become effective at the port in one of the following ways:
●
Press
[F7]
while still in Maintenance operations on the record. This will tempo-
rarily disable the port, then write the change to the software running in the node.
●
Re-IPL the node containing the changed port.
