The virtual connection will be established when the node undergoes re-IPL. If you
want to establish a connection without disrupting node operation, create an identical
PVC on line. Press
[D]
at the
Operations Menu
(or
[B], [D]
from the
Main Menu
) and
enter the requested information, noting the values in Table 7-5. (This is described in
detail under “Creating/Deleting a PVC On Line” on page 22.)
PVC Parameters
1 Logical channel must be lower than the lowest LCNs assigned to any SVC subscriberIDs
on the trunk.

Logical Channel Number
is a logical link between the logical circuit and the physical line. All logical channel
numbers (LCNs) assigned to PVCs must be lower than the lowest LCN specified for
any SVC subscriber IDs on the physical port.
Description
identifies this end of the logical connection to the console operator. The FRX8000
software does not use this information.
Packet Size
is the maximum packet size that will be transmitted on the PVC.
Window Size
is the maximum window size for packets on the PVC.
