Chapter 20
Statistics Displays
The FRX8000 software provides real-time statistical information on nodes, RLPs,
frames, and ports, as well as IP and IPX interfaces. The network automatically
rechecks and updates all statistics data every five seconds.
Some displays can be accessed from both the menu level and graphics level.
Statistics are not supported for async PAD ports. Also, frame-level sta-
tistics are not supported for SNA ports.
Graphics-level statistics are not accessible from an async terminal.
Menu-Level Node/LP/Frame/Port Statistics Displays
Displaying the Statistics
These operations display node, LP, frame-level, or port statistics, showing current
values, as well as maximum values since a node was last booted or since maximum
values were cleared. (See “
Clearing Maximum Statistics Values
” on page 20-8.)
Press
[B]
at the Statistics Menu. When prompted, enter:
●
Level
:
N
(node),
L
(LP):
P
(port), or
F
(frame). (Default is
N
.)
●
Node number: 1–250
. (Default is the local node.)
●
LP number
(if requested):
0–7
. (Default is
0
.)
●
Port
(if requested):
0–7
for physical ports,
8–63
for logical ports. (Default is
0
.)
Statistics displayed as “(
*10
)”or “(
*100
)”are recorded over a five-second gathering
interval, then divided by five and multiplied by 10 or 100 to allow a display of whole
numbers. The “per second” value is the displayed value divided by 10 or 100. For
example, if
Transmitted frames/sec
(
*10
) is shown as
870
, the actual transmitted frames
per second over the five-second reporting interval was 87.
