Graphics-level Status Displays
Although
Chapter 20
covers statistics, some graphics-level screens include
both status and statistics information. That statistics information is
included in this chapter.
This feature takes a Network Representation record (see Chapter 4) and displays a
screen similar to Figure 19-8. In Status Display operations, you can monitor status at
network, node, LP, or port level, as well as edit the record and perform some on-line
operations.
This Display is accessible only on a local VGA monitor.
Press
[H]
at the Main Menu. The screen will go blank for a few seconds while the
software enters graphics level. When prompted, enter a network/subnetwork ID,
1–250
. (There must be an existing record in the database with this ID.)
Figure 19-8 Network/Subnet Status Display
[H]
from Main Menu
Events:
shows the number of unacknowledged events for all nodes that
report to the local node/NMP (See “
[F2] – Events
” on
page 19-13
.) If
Call
Waiting
also appears in the upper right, a call has been placed to the local
node/NMP, but has not yet been accepted.
A status display screen is automatically updated every five seconds, unless a pull-
down menu is displayed, in which case updates are recorded in the software but the
display is “frozen” until the menu is exited.
Connecting lines between components are shown in white if the link is up, or black if
it is down. Objects are color-coded, as shown in
Table 19-1
, to show whether they are
reachable, and whether there are any outstanding events.
