Creating/Deleting a PVC On Line
You can create a temporary PVC, then delete it later. (Deleting a PVC will break the
connection, but the X.25 LCN will remain dedicated to the PVC until the next IPL of
the nodes at both ends.)
1. Press [D] at the Operations Menu (or [B], [D] from the Main Menu).
2. When prompted, enter:

PVC Type : 6 .
●
Any other requested information, noting the values in Table 14-3 .
3. When prompted, press [C] to create a connection or [D] to delete a connection.
If the operation is successful, PVC Created/Removed will be displayed.
If a “create” fails, you will see: Can' t use same channel or Create rejected, reason
“ n ,” where:

If “ n ” = 1 or 11 , the request from the local ( 1 ) or remote ( 11 ) end was bad.
Either the channel requested was 0 or the LP/port was not operational.

If “ n ” = 2 or 12 , the PVC already exists at the local ( 2 ) or remote ( 12 ) end.
If a “delete” fails, you will see: Remove rejected, reason “ n ,” where:

If “ n ” = 3 , local end of PVC does not exist.

If “ n ” = 4 , remote node number is incorrect.
◆
If “ n ” = 5 , remote LP/port is incorrect.
When finished with these operations, press any key to return to the Subscriber ID:
prompt, then press [F3] to return to the Operations Menu.
