Configure Node – Chapter 5. Definition of node type; specification of
alternate INMs/NMPs that will take over the local node’s functions if it
loses contact with the network; routing for this node’s alarms. Required for
every node.
B Configure SNMP Parameters – Chapter 16. Identifying information on
the SNMP manager; definitions of communities; trap routing. Required if
using the SNMP agent.
C Configure Cards – Chapter 6
A Configure Line Processor – Identifying parameters for all LPs in
FRX8000 and N7000 nodes on the network. Includes identification of Line
Interface Cards on RLPs, and installed protocols. Required for every LP.
B Configure LAN Card – Identification of types and locations of all Ethernet
and Token Ring cards in FRX8000s on the network. Required for each
Ethernet and Token Ring card.

Configure Port – Chapter 7 ( trunk ), Chapter 8 ( frame relay ),
Chapter 9 ( X.25 ), Chapter 11 ( SNA ), Chapter 12 ( BSCI ),
Chapter 13 ( async ). Identifying and operating parameters for all physical
and logical LP ports on the network. Specifies serial interfaces, line speed,
protocol-specific parameters. Required for every serial port.
B Configure Frame Relay DLCIs – Chapter 8. Data rate parameters (CIR,

). Required for each frame relay DLCI.
C CUG Management

Configure X.25 Port CUG – Chapter 9. Allows creation of closed user
groups, to regulate which subscriber devices can receive and/or transmit
from/to other devices.
B Configure International CUG – is not currently supported.
D Configure X25 Address Translation Template – Chapter 9. Templates
that are applied to incoming and outgoing call packets for the purpose of
translating selected fields of a packet that may not otherwise be in a
compatible format.
E Configure Modem Initialization – Chapter 7 ( Trunk ), Chapter 9 ( X.25 ).
Customized string of data that will be sent to the modem on a V.25 bis port.
F SNA PAD Management . Chapter 11.
A Configure SNA 7000 HPAD-PU – Identifying parameters for the
devices connected to SNA TPAD ports on Netlink Nucleus 7000s.
(This product is supported for existing customers.) Required for every
N7000 TPAD except the first one for each HPAD. (This is defined in
the Port file).
B Configure SNA 7000 TPAD-PU – Identifying parameters for PUs
(physical units) in an N7000 TPAD multidrop configuration.
C Configure SNA FRX8000 SDLC-PU – Identifying parameters for
the devices connected to FRX8000 SNA ports. Required for every
PU (physical unit).
G BSC Interactive PAD Management – Chapter 12. Identifying parameters
for subscribers and devices using FRX8000 ports configured as BSC
Interactive. Required for every BSC Interactive subscriber and device.
