Configuring Async Pads
13-3
Figure 13-1 Async PAD Profile Record
[A],[A],[C],[C]
from Main Menu
The numbers preceding the parameter names correspond to the
CCITT X.3
Recommendation.
Parameter 11, Speed, is not displayed because the value is determined by
the parameter
X.3 Line Speed
in the Port Configuration records for async
PAD ports, and is not configurable in the Profile record. (If
Autobaud
is
specified for
X.3 Line Speed
in a Port record, the speed is that of the async
device connected to the port.
Press
[1]
at the first screen to display the second screen. (The parameters are listed in
Table 13-1
.)
When Changes Take Effect
When you add a new profile record in database maintenance operations, the change
will be written to the database as soon as you enter the final parameter value. When
you change a parameter in an existing record, the change will be written to the
database immediately.
The change will become effective to an async subscriber with the profile in its Port
and/or Subscriber record in one of the following ways:
●
Exit the profile record, open the Port record, and press
[F7]
. This will disable the
port, writes the change to the LP software in the node, then re-enable the port.
●
Perform an on-line update of the profile (
[B],[A],[J]
from the Main Menu—
described under "
Changing a Profile On Line
" on page 13-8).
●
When the async subscriber logs out, the profile will be reloaded from the
database the next time he logs in.
●
When a call from the async subscriber is cleared, the profile will be reloaded
from the database the next time a call is placed.
