Output is displayed and sent to a UNIX file “stdout,” and can be redirected or filtered
using normal UNIX commands.
Changing the Cumulative Statistics File Size
Cumulative Statistics operations (described in Chapter 17 ) create a file that contains
cumulative data up to a file size limit set at 1MB. This limit can be changed by editing
the file named .cshrc, using the UNIX vi text editor.
1. If the INM/NMP is running, it must first be stopped. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt,
type
stop [Enter]
.
2. At the next
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
vi /u/netlink/.cshrc [Enter]
.
3. After the file is displayed, use the
[↓]
key to move the cursor to the
line:
setenv CST_ROLL 1
.
4. Change
1
to the desired file size by pressing
[R]
followed (with no spaces) by a
single digit that signifies the new file size in megabytes.
Remember that the total space for the file and its backup will
be twice what is specified here.
5. Type
:x [Enter]
to save the file and exit the text editor.
6. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type source
.cshrc [Enter]
.
7. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
nmpini [Enter]
if you are at an NMP or
start -icp [Enter]
if you are at an INM.
