Remote FRX8000/N7500 ICP
Updating an ICP involves performing an
All Software Update
, downloading three
single files, then performing a remote re-IPL of the node. If the node has an attached
monitor, a local re-IPL must also be performed at the node at some convenient time,
to enable access to the performance display.
1. After selecting
All Software Update
, enter (when prompted) a node ID or press
[Enter]
to specify all nodes.
2. When asked:
Download the console?
, type
n [Enter]
.
3. File names will be displayed as the files are downloaded. When the operation is
finished,
Download is complete
will be displayed.
4. Press
[Enter]
to return to the Boot Disk Download Operations Menu, then
press
[R], [B]
to re-IPL the remote node.
Remote FRX8000/N7500 INM
Updating an INM involves performing an
All Software Update
, downloading three
single files, then performing a remote re-IPL of the node. If the node has an attached
monitor, a local re-IPL must also be performed at the node at some convenient time,
to enable access to the performance display.
An
All Software Update
to the local INM will automatically send only the node
software.
1. After selecting
All Software Update
, enter (when prompted) a node ID (noting that
only one node at a time can be updated).
2. When asked:
Download the console?
, type
y [Enter]
.
3. File names will be displayed as the files are downloaded. When the operation is
finished,
Download is complete
will be displayed.
4. Press
[Enter]
to return to the Boot Disk Download Operations Menu, then press
[R], [B]
to re-IPL the remote node.
The software update is now complete. If you want to run
gcon
, do the following at the
remote node:
1. Press
[Alt] [F3]
.
2. At the
UNI X
login prompt, enter your login name and, if requested, password.
3. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
gcon [Enter]
.
