There are two safeguards, each accompanied by alarm messages, that alert the
operator when disk space is diminishing to an unacceptable amount. At the first level,
if call accounting is turned on, no further incoming calls are accepted. The second
level is reached as a result of call activity that was in progress when the first level was
passed. At this level, the ICP/INM/NMP
is “shut down”; that is, all NMP processes
are stopped, and you must back up your Call Accounting file and restart the
ICP/INM/NMP.
Turning Call Accounting On or Off

Checking Available Disk Space

proper frequency of maintenance can be determined. To check disk space, type

at the
[NETLINK]
prompt. A message similar to the following will be dis-
played:

172730
110714
62016
72%
% used
in the
/dev/root
directory should not exceed
75-80
.
Displaying the File
The current Call Accounting file can be displayed in two ways; one is a current
record as the file builds on the ICP/INM/NMP, the other a history of the file from it's
beginning to the present. For both types of display, press
[R]
at the
Main Menu to exit
to the
[NETLINK]
prompt. To see a list of the options, type
caf [Enter]
.
Some examples of the options are as follows:
●
You can display all records in the file as it builds. The file will remain open and
the display will continue to build until you press
[Del]
to cancel the operation, or
until the file is rolled over.
