Cumulative Statistics
The LP software collects
port-level statistics
(described on page 20-5) every five
seconds. Cumulative Statistics operations accumulate these values at selected
intervals and write the totals to a file at an ICP, INM, or NMP. You can produce a
report listing those totals at each interval within a selected period.
Values of statistics described earlier as “
per second (* 100)
” or
“
per second (* 10)
” are collected here as totals. Values described earlier as
ratios and percentages are still ratios and percentages.
To create or modify a Cumulative Statistics record (you must have master status),
press
[F]
, then
[A]
, then
[C]
from the Statistics Menu. When prompted, enter the node,
LP, and port numbers.

In a new record, the displayed values for items A and B will both be
0
. Pressing
[Enter]
for either will specify the default value (shown in
Table 20-1
).
[F4]
will say
Start
if
Cum. Stats. On/Off
is
0
or
Stop
if
1
. Pressing
[F4]
starts or stops (whichever is dis-
played) statistics gathering, as soon as the change is sent to the node. (This is the same
as changing the value for
Cum. Stats. On/Off
.)
Pressing
[F4]
or changing
Cum. Stats. On/Off
has no effect until you press
[F6]
to update the node or the node is re-booted.
Pressing
[F5]
will reset the statistics counters to zero.
Pressing
[F6]
will update the node with a new record or with any changes you made an
existing record. (Otherwise, the changes will take effect at the next IPL of the node.)
