Figure 10-7 Backup Using Address Translation
Noting Figure 10-7, to resolve any differences between PDN and FRX8000
addressing conventions, the backup path to Node 2 invokes a translation of the called
and calling addresses. The FRX8000-compatible called and calling addresses are
translated into PDN-compatible called and calling addresses. Node 2 has a translation
template defined to intercept packets with the PDN-compatible calling address for
Node 1. It translates these into the FRX8000-compatible calling address for Node 2.
(The backup routing is transparent.)
To configure a translation template, press
[D]
, then
[C]
from the Ports Selection Menu
(or
[A], [D], [D, [C]
from the Main Menu). When prompted, enter:
●
Node ID
(of the node containing the X.25 port):
1–250
. (Default is the “local”
node.)
●
LP ID
(of the LP containing the port):
0–7
. (Default is
0
.)
●
Port
:
0–7
for an RLP port,

for an N74/7500 AST LP port.
●
Direction
:
