Alarms
21-3
The format for all four options is the same. Table 21-1 shows a sample display.
The content of the report is described under “
Message Format
” on page 21-6.
Although printed and displayed reports are structured differently, the information
is the same.

Displaying Alarms
Alarms can be displayed in two operations. One is accessed in graphics mode, and is
described under
Graphics-level Status Displays
on page 19-10; the other is accessed
from the menu level, and is described here.
To redirect alarm reporting from the printer to the console, press
[C]
at the Alarms
Menu (or
[D], [C]
from the Main Menu). The following message appears:
Console is Reserved for Event Log -- Hit F3 to Return to Normal Mode
When an alarm occurs, it will now be displayed on your screen, in the same format as
the report (see Figure 21-1), except that the header information and node number are
not shown.
As long as the redirection is in effect, your screen is dedicated to real-time reporting
of alarm messages. Then press
[F3]
to return the screen to normal mode and resume
sending alarm messages to the printer. Press any key to return to the Alarms Menu.
