Stopping an ICP
The procedure described here requires an attached keyboard and monitor. If they are
not present, the node can be shut down only by switching it off.
If the following steps are not followed accurately, file corruption
can occur.
1. Press
[C]
at the FRX8000 Test Menu (
Figure G-1
).
2. When prompted:
Reboot (R to reboot, T to terminate)
, press
[T]
.
3. At the
[NETLINK
] prompt, type
logout [Enter
].
4. At the
scosysv!login:
prompt, type
root [Enter]
.
5. When asked for a password, type
mypass [Enter]
.
6. At the
#
prompt, type
sync; shutdown -g0 [Enter]
. (Ignore any warnings to log off.)
7. After about a minute, you will be prompted:
Do you want to continue?
Type
y
[Enter]
to continue with the shutdown process.
8. Messages will be displayed, ending with:
** Safe to Power Off **
- or -
**Press any key to Reboot**
9. Switch the unit off.
Rebooting an ICP
To reboot an FRX8000 ICP:
1. Press
[C]
at the FRX8000 Test Menu (
Figure G-1
).
2. When prompted:
Reboot (R to reboot, T to terminate)
, press
[R]
, and the node will
reboot.
