Description:
Use this screen to define the preset control values for the mean, standard deviation, and range or
to view the cumulative mean, N, standard deviation and range for a defined set of indices and
a time period for cumulation. Also use this screen to determine if control results are interpreted
using Westgard rules (multi) or standard deviation check (single). Up to 6 controls can be
assigned for a test.
Control. No.:
From the control samples that are set by the [QC Common] menu for each
control 1 to 6, set the control sample to be used here. Enter a numerical value between 1 and
60. This can also be set using the guide function key. The control name will appear in the last
column to the right. To set the identical reagent specification of serum/urine to "None," enter a
space.
Multi/Single:
Specify whether quality control is performed according to the multi-rule. If so,
set to MULTI; if not, set to SNGL for single rule.
Caution
QC error flags may be compromised when a conflict between [QC Common] and [QC Specific] Single/
Multi settings arise. Operator MUST ensure Single/Multi settings match in both [QC Common] and [QC
Specific].
The following fields set the QC Monitor chart characteristics described:
Mean:
Central target value (expected mean)
SD
: Standard deviation
Range
: Width of control range (maximum - minimum values)
The values entered into these fields should have the same number of decimal places as the
associated Test, specified in the Decimal Places field in:
[Parameters] [Specific Test Parameters], Range Tab.
The display of the Mean and SD settings will contain more decimal places than what was
entered because trailing zeros are automatically added to the software for QC data management
purposes.
