2. Select F4 (set).
3. Select the line number to begin with.
4. Select F5 (edit).
A window appears. (See the following page for information on each
prompt.)
5. When the parameter settings are completed, select "Close."
The parameters will be
saved.
All
The "All" option is selected from the pull-down menu where reagent tests are selected. If the
“All” option is selected, extra wash cycles are implemented for the reagent probe to minimize
contamination for the R1 and R2 of all tests preceding the affected test.
Preceding Test Name
Use the pull-down menu to enter the test that causes contamination.
The operator is not
permitted to specify an analysis test assigned to inter-test calculation. If "None" is selected, no
other field can be accessed.
.
Following Test Name
Use this column to enter the test that is affected by the preceding test.
"Following" tests can
be set only if a "preceding" test has been set. Other conditions are the same as those for
“Preceding.”
Cleaner Kind
Select solution for cleaning the reagent probe. Pull down menu options: Water, CLN1,
CLN2, CLN3. CLN (1-3) are user-defined solutions used for extra probe washes during
decontamination.
Refer to the Contamination Parameters section in the Method Parameters section for Beckman
Coulter recommendations for specific test contamination requirements.
The designated CLN solution is loaded in the reagent compartment in a fixed position. Assign
the CLN position in [System Status], [Reagent Status]. The preferred positions are No. 1, 2, and
3, in successive order.
Wash Count
Enter a number 0, or 1-5. This is how many times the affected probe is washed during
decontamination.
Cancel
If cancel has a
ü
, the analyzer will not perform the cleaning cycle with the appropriate cleaner
if the probe has aspirated the contaminating reagent and has been able to run and wash with
water for five cycles prior to aspirating the affected reagent. If cancel does not have a
ü
, the
probe will wash with the appropriate cleaner this occurs under all conditions.
Beckman Coulter
strongly recommends against using the
ü
(except where indicated) because special wash
procedures will NOT occur if the instrument goes to measure 2, stop, pause, or standby and
restarts testing sensitive tests..
Mixer (Mix Bar)
When this option is selected, the mix bar used for the test listed in the “Preceding” column will
not be used for the test listed in the “Following” column.
Cuvette
Selecting this option instructs the instrument to avoid using the same cuvettes for selected tests.
