6.2 Processing Priority/Emergency Samples
Priority/Emergency samples can be processed prior to the routine samples by using the
STAT table or red rack.
Summary of Processing Priority/Emergency Samples
There are three methods of processing priority/emergency samples. If there are only a few
emergency samples to be processed, they can be processed quickly by using the STAT table. If
there many emergency samples to be processed, the red rack can be used.
Using the STAT Table: One-Touch Mode:
This processes priority samples in the one-touch mode. Analysis is performed simply by
placing the sample container, containing the sample to be analyzed, on the STAT table in the
one-touch mode position #1, and pressing the STAT Button.
Using the STAT Table: Normal Analysis Mode
This is performed in the same way as the requisition operation for normal analysis except a
“P” prefix is shown before the number. Analysis is started by pressing the STAT Button.
Using the Red Rack:
If many emergency samples require analysis, use the red rack.
Instruction
If a sample is centrifuged in a primary tube to be analyzed on the AU2700 system, check that there is
sufficient serum for analysis, in addition to the dead volume required for sample detection. If the serum
height in the sample tube is less than the limit, transfer the serum into a smaller sample container, then
start analysis. Otherwise, if the blood cells under the serum in the container are aspirated, analysis and
dispense abnormalities could occur.
STAT Table Adapters
The diameters of the standard sample container that can be set on the STAT table are 14 to 16
mm. It is possible to set sample containers on the STAT table whose diameters are outside the
standard range. There are three kinds of adapters that can be used depending on the diameter of
the sample container as shown in the table below:

Sample containers with a diameter less than 11.5 mm cannot be used on the STAT table. Also it
is not possible to use sample containers with a diameter exceeding 16 mm.
