4.3.4 How to Perform a Manual Repeat Run
The following procedure explains how to program and perform a manual repeat run. If the
system has been preprogrammed to perform a manual repeat run, follow the procedures in the
AU2700 Quick Response Guide.
Any of the flags on the [Repeat Run Common] menu can be selected for repeat run analysis. J
and K flags allow specific test ranges to be entered. Other error flags will not be test specific.
Performing a Manual Repeat Run Using the Orange Rack
1. From the main menu, select [Parameters], [System], [System].
2. Select function key F4 (set).
3. Use the pull-down menu by the “Auto/Standard Repeat” field and select “Standard.”
4. Press function key F2 (exit) twice.
5. From the main menu select [Parameters], [Repeat Parameters], [Repeat Common].
6. Select function key F4 (set). The box to the left of the Auto Repeat field should have a
check mark in it.
7. Using the mouse, select any flag to generate repeat requisitions. Flags can be set in one
of the following categories.
A. The normal repeat mode uses the original sample volume to repeat the test.
B. The dilution repeat mode uses: 1. a user defined sample volume smaller than the
original sample volume to perform a “dilution.” Results using the smaller volume are
calculated and printed as the corrected result automatically. 2. A separate “dilution
cuvette” is made on the analyzer. The diluent is DI water from the pre-dilution bottle.
The predilution rate may be set at 1, for no dilution, or 5-100 depending on the desired
dilution. Results using the dilution cuvette are calculated and printed as the corrected
result automatically.
C. The “OR mode” will requisition a repeat if any flag selected is generated.
D. The “AND mode” will requisition a repeat only if all flags selected are generated on a
test.
E. The “Condense” category increases the sample volume for a repeat run.
8. If you want to set up specific test repeat ranges: Select [Parameters], [Repeat
Parameters], [Repeat Specific]. Enter a range at the “Repeat Decision Level” to generate
J (above the range) and K (below the range) flags.
9. If you want to perform a dilution: 1. Select [Parameters], [Repeat Parameters], [Repeat
Specific]. Enter a smaller sample volume than the programmed volume (displayed from
[Specific Test Parameters]) at the “Diluted Sample Volume” field. 2. [Parameters],
[Repeat Parameters], [Repeat Specific]. Enter the dilution required from 5-100.
10. Print a repeat run work list. Modify the work list if necessary, and print a new repeat run
work list.
11. Pick up the repeat run samples according to the repeat run work list and load them into
the orange racks. If samples are barcoded, they can be placed in any order. If samples
are not barcoded, they must be placed in sequential order.
12. Press start. Repeat samples will have an “H” prefix on the data printout. For example,
routine samples will print as H0001 and routine urine samples will print as HU001.
