2.4.3 Performing QC on the STAT Table
When QC is assigned a position on the STAT table, perform the following procedure. The STAT
table also needs to be checked again after an End Process is performed, the large part of the
STAT table cover is removed, or if certain parameter screens are opened.
1. Perform a STAT table check:
A. From the main menu, select [System Status], [STAT Table Status].
B. Place reagent blank, calibrator, and QC material in the correct positions on the
table. Use the STAT ROTATION/DIAG Button to turn the table if necessary.
Only
place calibrator and QC material on the STAT table if analysis from this material is
required.
C. Select function key F5 (check start). In the STAT Check Window, select Yes at the
“Start Checking?” prompt.
Note
The table rotates and senses if reagent blank, calibrator, and/or QC cups are loaded. Alarms are
generated if the positions are defined for reagent blank, calibrator, or QC in [System Maintenance] and
cups are not detected.
2. Requisition QC for the STAT table:
The STAT table check resets the requisition screen to perform
ALL
QC tests (all tests are
highlighted in blue). If you do not want to run all QC after the STAT table check, you
must deselect the tests.
A. From [System Status], [STAT Table Status]. Make sure the QC is placed in the correct
positions on the STAT table.
B. Select function key F7 (QC Req.). In the window at the “Type” field use the pull-down
menu to select serum, urine, or other sample types.
C. Select the Start Entry function key.
D. If tests are highlighted in blue they are selected. Click the test with the mouse to
deselect tests that do NOT require QC analysis.
E. Select the Entry function key to save your selections. Verify the tests of your choice
are selected (highlighted in blue).
F. Repeat the previous steps for all sample types in use.
G. Select the “Close” button to exit this screen.
3. Close the cover.
4. Press the STAT button to start analysis.
If the STAT LED is on, press the STAT button
once to start. If the STAT LED is off, press the STAT button twice to start.
If errors are
present, an error list will appear. Review the error list and correct any problems before
starting analysis.
